Community Service

Each NCL, Inc. Chapter promotes social awareness by considering the local community’s needs and selecting appropriate non-profit organizations to serve.  Each Chapter then supports its philanthropic service partners through different volunteer activities.

NCL Susan Komen Race 2015 69-XLBuckhead Chapter’s goal is to promote and support a relevant list of philanthropy partners with hands on service as mother and daughter teams.  Focusing on hands-on service in the community benefits the Chapter in the following ways:

  • Encourages members to achieve the NCL purpose of inspiring and empowering women to succeed as confident, well-rounded and socially aware contributors serving in their communities
  • Brings more value to the NCL Experience
  • Helps the Chapter to develop strong connections with partner philanthropies
  • Focuses Liaisons’ efforts on securing more on-site hours with the philanthropy partners
  • Focuses GLAD’s efforts on encouraging TT Classes to serve together
  • Cultivates the Core Values of NCL:
    • Honoring the mother-daughter bond by together learning, growing and modeling responsibility and graciousness
    • Empowering women with the skills and confidence to lead
    • Nurturing through mentorship
    • Inspiring a legacy of social awareness and compassion
    • Providing depth of support in local communities
    • Integrity and excellence in everything we do

Finally, hands-on service follows the true intent of National Charity League, Inc.’s bylaws on philanthropy hours.  However at times, our members provide our philanthropy partners with goods and in-kind donations to enhance a hands-on project.
